Hello, Can someone help me w/ understanding how to convert cc to mg's correctly. This is an example note, trying to determine if the injection sites add up to 10mg? I'm only getting 6.5mg if I'm adding this correctly.

A syringe filled with 2% Lidocaine - 2.5cc with Dexamethasone 10mg/cc - 0.5cc was created and infiltrated into the sites listed below:

Injection Site Left Right
Greater Occipital Nerve Block: 2.0 cc 2.0 cc
Trapezius m. (ridge): 0.75 cc 0.75cc
Cervical paraspinals: 0.5 cc 0.5cc

The total amount of Dexamethasone used was 10 mg.

The conversion formula is: volume (cc) X strength (mg/cc) = dosage given (mg).

The provider has combined two drugs here, but the wording is confusing so I'm not understanding quite what was done. It sounds like the provider perhaps used 2.5 cc of the Lidocaine and added to that 0.5 cc of the Dexamethasone (which would be 5 mg of Dexamethasone per the conversion, not 10 mg), but it only comes up to a total of 3.0 cc and the injections documented total 3.25 cc. You may need to get clarification from the provider about this.
