The order is for 3 views LT wrist and 3 views LT hand (6 views total)
The radiologist performs x-ray of LT hand and LT wrist thgether (3 views total) . There are 2 cpts for hand and wrist.

Should I use modifier 52 in this case?

I am an x-ray tech as well as a coder. You are actually looking at two separate procedures. The x-ray of the wrist would be cpt code 73110, and the one for the hand would be 73130. If it is just the radiologist reading the films, you might have to deal with the TC modifier, but not sure exactly what your circumstances are. Hope this helps!

xrays

I also am an xray tech as well as a coder and I disagree with the previous entry where they state that they can bill both hand and wrist. If you took only 3 views (of which they included the hand and wrist all on one film) than you should only code out 3 views of hand as seperate films were not used to distinguish hand and wrist seperately. Otherwise I believe you are over coding.
