Can someone shed some light on the following scenario.
In our facility, patients are told to purchase their own drugs, Depo shots, especially. We do not stock this medication, but we administer the drug. I do not want the pharmacy to lose out on the opportunity of getting paid, nor do I want the Insurance Carrier to receive two separate charges for the same drug. We do not stock Depo shots, and in order for me to get reimbursed for the administration of the drug, I need to show what we are administering.
This not only applies to depo, I am told there are other drugs that the patient are asked to purchase, and the provider will administer.
Is there anyone else who has experienced this scenario????
