Wiki How do you perform a Medical & Health Code Cost Analysis

Hello All,

I see many billing companies offering a "FREE MEDICAL AND HEALTH CODE-AND-COST ANALYSIS" (see info below).

My question is, how is this analysis performed? Is there a software I can purchase? Any/all help/recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Some use software, but I'm not too for sure about those or how other billing companies do it. I believe AAPC offers one with a cost. I honestly don't know of anything being "free" though, as the only thing that we offer free is audits, consultations, and on-site visits.

With my billing company we run several reports utilizing the billing system and our code analysis team reviews the reports to determine whether there are any coding errors or if an insurance contract needs to be renegotiated.
