Wiki Hospitalist - If one of our FP Dr's sees a patient

If one of our FP Dr's sees a patient in the office, then the patient goes directly to the hospital to be admitted by a Hospitalist, can our physician still bill out their E & M for that day? I am assuming so since the Hospitalist is not a part of our practice and will be taking over all care while the patient is in the hospital. Would my assumption be correct?

Hi Stacey,

Physician saw patient in office and sent to hospital but physician has not visited this patient again in the hospital on same day then only you can bill office visit.
On next day when physician saw this patient and wrote admit notes then you can bill hospital admit for that day.
