A Pt of ours had a poloidal cyst removed at the hospital and is coming to us for all follow ups and re packing. What codes can I bill for this and get reimbursement for our time and supplies? As the original code was 10081 with a 10 day global.
Please advise
 
If your physician removed the cyst and billed 10081, you were already paid for that follow up work. If your physician did NOT remove the cyst, global period does not apply and you bill for the services provided.
There are situations where there is a formal transfer of care, and then billing would be different. This is very rare from my experience. So rare, I've never personally encountered it in 25+ years of billing/coding.
