HELP !
PT ADMITTED ON 6/9 FOR PRETERM LABOR@ 36 WEEKS, DIACHARGED 6/10 . PROVIDER SAW HER BOTH DAYS IN THE HOSPITAL.
CODES 99222 AND THEN 99232 ? WITH DX o60.03 AND z3A.36

ANY GUIDENCE ON HOPSITAL CODING WOULD BE APPRECIATED !

If the patient was truly admitted those procedure codes would be correct. you could call the hospital to confirm if they were admitted. If they were not admitted and this was observation only, the Dr who put them on observation status would be the only one billing for observation codes and you would bill the appropriate outpatient code (office visit, new or establ.)
