I have a 31 year old patient who has a hx of Reye's syndrome. Any idea as to what code to use? He is mentally retarded with epilepsy that presented to the ER.

There is no cure for Reye's Syndrome so you would not use the history code. I would code it as follows: 319 Unspecified Mental Retardation, 331.81 Reye's Syndrome + the epilepsy code.
