Patient has history of colon cancer diagnosed and resected four years ago. Patient has recently been diagnosed with metastasis to the lung. Since the colon cancer is no longer being treated but the metastatic site is, what is the correct coding sequence for this scenario? I think it should be the mets as primary and the V code for the history of colon cancer as secondary. Can anyone add to this please? I have a clinician who wants "proof". I have already given this clinician the coding guidelines, section 1, Chapter 2 d, but that's not good enough for him...
