We are seeking a certified medical coder to perform both E&M and procedure coding within Alleviant.

Responsibilities:
Coding medical procedures and E&M's according to Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance guidelines. Reviewing coding denial from payers and recommending the appropriate action to resolve the claim based on payer guidelines.

Other Key Duties:

•Building client relationships while working on assigned projects
•Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills both written and oral.
•Working collaboratively within a team setting
•Understands CPT & ICD9 coding methodologies

Qualifications:

•CPC Certified required
•Three years of progressive experience in medical coding/reimbursement.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
•Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines
•Knowledge of reimbursement systems, as well as federal, state and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to documentation, coding and billing
•Knowledge of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements
•Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, techniques and surgical procedures; anatomy and physiology; major disease processes; pharmacology; and the metric system to identify specific clinical findings, to support existing diagnoses, or substantiate listing additional diagnoses in the medical record
•Knowledge of the AAPC Standards of Ethical Coding
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Excellent analytical skills
•Some travel may be required
