Surgeon did a colonoscopy w/internal hemorrhoidectomy, banding, times 3. My question, is the hemorroidectomy coded once, not x3. I am new to outpatient surgeries. Any help would be great.
Look at 46221. You will not need to use the x3 multiplier. The key to this is that little (s) behind the word ligation. Good luck with your new position as an outpatient coder.
