Hello all,
I am hoping that someone can help me with this coding.

Ticket states:
"LHC, Coronaries, LV gram" so I will use 93458-26
Thrombectomy/PTCA/Stent-LAD ??

Then the patient had to be returned to the OP room for another Repeat Cath, Thrombectomy/PTCA LAD

:confused:

I appreciate any advise that you can give this Cath billing newbie.

Hard to tell what you have that's billable without a copy of the reports. Can you post those and just take out the patient info?
 
I tried to upload it but I guess it was too large...
Here are the details:

1st report: Cath Procedure
Procedure Performed: Thrombectomy and PTCA to proximal and mid LAD.
Findings: L-Main OK LAD: Hyperacute stent thrombosis LCX: OK
Intervention: Thrombectomy and PTCA

2nd report (same day): Cath Procedure
Procedure Performed: Coronary Angiography, left heart cath, left ventriculogram PCI
Findings: L-Main OK LAD: 100% Occlusion w/ Thrombus LCX: OK
RCA: Prox 60%. Mid 60%
LV Gram: EF 40%. Anteroapical Dyskinesis
Intervention: Thrombectomy, PTCA, Stent to Mid LAD.

Do you want to try to email the report to me, taking out the patient info of course? My email is Jammie.Barsamian@bmcjax.com. I'm asking for the reports because knowing what kind of device they used for the thrombectomy is important. You can only bill for that if its a mechanical device. And also need to see what was documented as the reason for performing the 2nd LHC on the same day. If emailing the reports won't work, then I can then give you my direct work number and try to go over the reports on the phone with you :)
