I am coding a amputation of big toe with debridement of metatarsal head. 2 days later they go back and revise the amputation.
Surgery 1-
A circular incision was made around the great toe and extended proximally onto the dorsal foot. The junction between the phalanx and metatarsal was identified. Using electrocauterty the tendons, vessels and connective tissues were divided releasing the phalanx from the metatarsal head. The distal metatatarsal head was then debrided with a rongeur. A vac was placed over the exposed metatarsal head and wound.
I am going with 28820 and 97605.
Surgery 2-
An incision was extended on the dorsal foot over the distal head of the metatarsal bone. The bone was dissected from the surrounding tissues exposing the shaft of the first metatarsal. The bone cutters were used to divide the shaft of the bone. There were several sesamoid bones on the planter side of the wound that were removed as well.
I am not sure about this one at all any help would be greatly appreciated
