Hello, I am having a discussion with a fellow coder on which code would be appropriate for this procedure which was done in the office I am thinking it would be 11042 and she is stating 46050. I am requesting help with coding this procedure.
Post-procedure Diagnoses
1. Perirectal abscess [K61.1]
Procedures
1. DEBRIDEMENT WOUND [SUR1190]
68-year-old male presents the clinic for follow-up of perirectal abscess.
Patient has 4 unique wound openings that likely had initial tracks connecting them beneath the skin.
Two phlegmon were removed last visit from the superior medial aspect of the gluteal muscle at the gluteal cleft.
The inferior two wounds located on the upper inner thigh adjacent to, but not including the scrotum are now open. There is a phlegmon in the most inferior wound at this time. Ten blade was used to remove and debride the devitalized phlegmon from the underlying tissue measuring 2cm x 2cm and 1 cm deep. The inferior wound was packed with sterile packing and covered with a sterile dressing. Patient tolerated the procedure well.
Thank you for any help offered.
