I am fairly new to Podiatry and not sure how to code this one:

Procedure: Arthroplasty of 2nd metatarsophalangeal joint, left foot with Weil osteotomy and screw fixation

I was able to find CPT 28308 for the Weil Osteotomy but as far as the rest I am lost
Any help would be appreciated.

Arthroplasty 2nd metatarsal is for hammertoe repair. 28285
 
I agree.
The description of CPT 28285 is “correction of hammertoe.” It is not arthroplasty. Hence steps required to “correct” the hammertoe are bundled under that code. This would include both bone and soft tissue work. Work at the MPJ maybe payable per your operative report. If the procedure performed there was a simple T/C then more than likely that would be included as well ( vs. a complete open 360 degree release).
Sometimes the work required is more than average repair, other times it might be easier. If you feel the work is significantly above the norm, then consider pending CPT 28285 with a 22 modifier
