Pt had a previous TKA years ago and was scheduled for a patella revision. The Dr ended up removing the implant and removing/exchanging the Polyethylene liner but inspection found a patella fracture that had not completely healed. He elected to perform a fixation and healing of the fracture rather than replacement of an implant.
So my question is should I bill 27486 -52 and 27524? Would I need another modifier on 27524 since it seems to be inclusive of 27486? Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
