OP REPORT
A left periumbilical vertical incision was made through the skin and subq tissue. The hernia sac was dissected free from the umbilicus and the surrounding subq tissue and expanded. The defect was 4 cm; however, the hernia sac had expanded and the subq tissue approximately 8 cm. the hernia sac was dissected free from teh surrounding subq tissue and transected. I then palpated an epigastric hernia about 3 cm cephalad to the umbilicus. It was incar4cerated with omentum. the omentum was reduced out of the hernia sac and then the small hernia defect was closed with inverted stitches. a medium vantralex meas was inserted in the abdominal cavity.
