A pt came in one week after ORIF of her lateral malleolus fx with pain & redness around the wound site. During the visit, she stated that she has an allergy to nickel (this was not related prior to her sx).
The surgeon removed the stainless hardware & replaced it w/titanium. Because he had to remove the old hardware to put in the new hardware, I am reluctant to bill 20680 w/27792-77(diff doc).
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
