Looking for advice on screw removal for hammer toes. The patient has surgery elsewhere & our doc took out 3 screws. 20670 seems correct but since 3 screws involved, would we bill x 3? Any suggestions helpful
 
I use 20680 (because it goes into bone) and 996.40 for dx.

If the surgeon removes all 3 from the same incision, I only code it once. (If anyone out there codes it 3x if done through the same incision, could you give a link/reference saying that they are supposed to be coded seperately if done through the same incision? thanks!)
