I work at an OB-GYN office and one of my providers came to me today with the question if after sending a patient out to get a dexa scan can that patient follow up with our office to discuss the results or does the patient need to be referred to their PCP. My provider is under the impression that insurance companies will not reimburse for any follow up visits to a dexa scan if we are a specialist. Can anyone help me with this please?
