Can someone please advise as to whether or not this is accurate? Thank you!!
When a 10 day global and a 90 day global are performed together, it becomes one component. Both procedures fall under 90 day global. If by chance a Payor does pay an E&M with a 24 modifier, the chance of being redacted is possible. If during a review, a Payor finds up to 4 errors, a 6 month review is possible. If more than 4 errors are found, a whole year review could be requested. There is also the possibility of an exception. In that exception, the Practice would not be able to bill or use modifier 24 for anything for approx 6-12 months.
