I am of the understanding that the 10 day global period was done away with for Simple Lac Repairs. Given that, when the patient returns to have the sutures removed is it not ok to charge for that follow up visit? We have been given many pieces of information regarding this and are now quite confused! :)
Thank you!

If there is a 0 global then the reimbursement is for the surgical service only, it is appropriate to charge for post operative encounters . Remember to use dx code V58.32 for suture removal and not the laceration code.
For ICD-10 you will not use the Z code for suture removal you will use the laceration code with a seventh character D.
