I have a group of geriatricians who spend an inordinate amount of time with inpatients and their families or reviewing records and coordinating care and managing complex, chronic conditions. The patient is not always present or able to participate. These are typically Medicare patients and time is defined as face-to-face with the patient. Does anyone have a way to bill for this time and receive reimbursement from Medicare?
