Hi,
I'm hoping someone can assist with this question:
When performing a 1997 General Multi system examination how do you count the areas within the musculoskeletal section?
Example:
A physician performs an assessment of range of motion on both lower extremities. Does this count as 1 bullet or 2? I always thought 1 but started doing research and am finding conflicting answers. I know that the single specialty musculoskeletal would count it as 2 because the guidelines are quite clear. But the general exam doesn't state the same thing, and because it's a general multi system exam it just seems as if a provider shouldn't get a Detailed Exam by performing say 11 bullets in musculoskeletal and 1 in constitutional for vitals.
Thank you!
