We've noticed that many insurances such as Worker's Comp accept only the G-code for intraoperative neuromonitoring. Most of the time we find this out later after billing the first time. Since the reading neurologist is not aware as he would be if it was a Medicare case, these cases would of been been remotely read simultaneously with other cases. My question is, can the G0453 NOT be coded/billed in this situation (because attention has to be on one patient at at time) and then all of the other modalities be coded/billed by themselves? Also, would the G0453 be billed as 0 or not put on the claim at all?
