Wiki FYI Medicare ID and name do not match denials

This may be old news to some but for those who are not aware.
Per my recent conversation with a Medicare rep (Ohio CGS is the MAC)
Effective October 1 Medicare now will require that the name on the claim match that which is on the card exactly where this was not necessarily the case previously.
If you receive a denial for this and previous claims have processed fine, you may want to take a peek at the card before calling Medicare with questions.

This has always been the case that the name on the Medicare ID card be exactly the same as the one you put on the claim. It seems that out MAC CGS is beginning to enforce this. I saw one card where the individual's name was misspelled and the claim had to contain the misspelling until the patient had her card changed.
