Does anyone have any information or links on how to get CT's and MRI's paid for Radiologists when performed in a hospital owned off-campus free standing emergency department? We've been told that we are to bill with place of service 19 but the problem we are having is that CT's and MRI's must be pre-authorized for most insurance companies unless performed in emergency room, and place of service 19 isn't emergency room. And place of service 23 is for ER that's actually in the hospital. Thanks in advance for any help
