Hello,
Patient falls and fractures the distal radius on 3/24/05, still in global period for fracture care.
She is now complaining of hip pain, CT was done and found she has a fractured pelvis she obtained from her fall on 3/24/15. She is to continue using her walker and she was given a prescription for pain medication if she needs it. Followup in 3-4 weeks.
Since no real treatment for the hip other than pain medication would I just code the fracture and do an E/M code and would I need a modifier since we are still in the global period for the distal radius fracture or can I do another fracture care code?
