Wiki Fracture A or D at the end of code

Hello,

If a patient has been treating for left hip bursitis and now being told and treated that it is a hip fracture do I use a A or D at the end of the fx code?

Think of the letter a for "Active" treatment. With fractures the letter A will be used on all treatment up to either fracture care or ORIF. For dates after fracture care is started or ORIF the letter D is then used.
