patient has paronychia due to ingrown toenail. nail avulsion done. 1 week later patient returns for post op and is fully resolved.
i'm conflicted on which ICD10 diagnosis code to use on follow up visit. is it considered followup care(Z09) or can still code the paronychia code L03.03x?

What code was billed for the avulsion, 11730 or 11750?

yes either of these codes used and then came back for follow up which was resolved.

Okay, 11750 has a 10 day global, so if patient returns in one week, the visit is not billable. For the 11730, there is no global, so you can bill a visit with the same code you billed for the avulsion (same for the 11750 after global period). I usually use L60.0 or pain. Kind of like when you see a patient in follow-up of plantar fasciitis and they say they are 100% better, you are still going to use the plantar fasciitis icd10.
