When seeing a patient for follow up for surgery after the global period is over, would you just use the Z09? I've always struggled with after care codes once the post op period is over.

Without any additional info I would say you are correct.

If the patient had a MMT and had surgery and is now out of post op care and completely healed but coming back in just to make sure everything is fine, would you use the Z09 and the code for a MMT to show what they are seeking the follow up encounter for?
