Wiki Follow up after Surgery

I hope someone can direct me.

I have a patient that came in for a follow up 2 1/2 years after surgery

The Diagnosis is: 2 1/2 years Status Post Right Total Knee Arthroplasty wit generalized synovitis/inflammation

Can I code the Synovitis with a V67.09 with an E/M Code?

Any help is appreciated.

Is the synovitis caused by the joint prothesis? if so you would use 996.77 (other complications due to internal joint prosthesis) along with V43.65 (knee joint replacement).

If it's just for a follow-up with no problems then V67.09 with V43.65.
