CLINICAL HISTORY: LAP-BAND obstruction.
FLUOROSCOPIC-GUIDED LAP-BAND DECOMPRESSION WITH LIMITED BARIUM SWALLOW
TECHNIQUE: Under fluoroscopic guidance, a 19-gauge needle was used to gain access to the port and approximately 2 cc of saline was aspirated. Followup swallow demonstrates marked improvement of flow of contrast through the region of the LAP-BAND into the stomach. The patient demonstrated significant improvement in symptomatology. Fluoroscopic time was one minute.
IMPRESSION: Successful LAP-BAND decompression with improved flow of contrast as described above.
