Would this be unlisted - 17999 or am I missing a CPT code for this? One of my coders wants to use 10060 but I don't feel that is appropriate as no abscess is found.
OPERATIVE FINDINGS: Painful scar. No obvious foreign body
The previous scar over the proximal phalanx was incised dorsally. It was immediately noted that there was a small area approximately 1 cm square that appeared to be an old cyst. This was searched extensively for foreign material, however, none was found. The extensor mechanism was visualized and found to be intact. I did not find any large amounts of foreign material, only evidence of a chronic granulomatous type of cyst. The wound was irrigated. The skin was closed with nylon.
