Yes. This was new for the CPT changes of 2014 for behavioral health. Are your psychologists staffed through the hospital or, are you submitting for the ICD-9-CM services that were rendered in the facility?
If the physicians, or counselors are members of their own group and consulting in the hospital, then they will bill their own CPT for the visit in their office and you will only code the ICD-9-PX codes for the facility to be reimbursed.

Yes I believe the physicians are hospital employees. I see reference to coding changes for 2014 but I dont understand that the facility billing on 1500. I am only being told some payers want this and not all. Can you guide me to a link that documents that facility should be billing on 1500 so I can show my billing director? Thank you so much for clarifying this for me!
