Hello! I have looked everywhere-does anyone have any info on this type of procedure? I'm leaning towards unlisted for the reconstruction and comparing it to 27386 but hoping someone might have some additional info from AAOS, the AMA or anything else to help me out. The provider did replace the liner of the TKA but did nothing else to the knee components done on a prior surgery-also this procedure was mainly done to help with the instability of the knee.

Usually the quad tendon is disrupted. It depends on which structures were reconstructed. I have used 27385 or 27386 in some of these cases in the past depending on what was done/documented. I personally wouldn't go unlisted because depending on the tendon(s) reconstructed there is a code for it.

There's a coding clinic on the extensor mechanism and probably a CPT Assistant, I don't have access to those right now.

For the liner, I would almost want to do 27486-52. Tough one to say. I think there's probably a CPT Assistant on that too.
