I am actively seeking employment and am planning on relocating south. I will consider area from Wilmington NC - Pawley's Island, SC or Remote Position.
I am looking for a billing/coding or Office Manager Position.
Currently, I am employed as the Billing/Coding Manager for a pain management/neurology (spine) ambulatory surgery center in Hagerstown, Maryland. My responsibilities include, but exceed, coding, billing and collecting for the ambulatory surgery center. I also have experience with cosmetic/plastic surgery billing and dermatology billing. I am responsible for all accounts receivable. I assist with insurance verification and authorization when necessary. I am familiar with many of the clerical duties in the office and fill in at the front desk when needed answering phones and scheduling appointments. I have experience in insurance and physician credentialing.
My past experience in the medical insurance industry, which included, referral specialist, clinical claims review and processing of commercial medical insurance claims, has given me an advantage when billing and collecting for physicians and facilities. I am very familiar with CPT codes and ICD-9 codes, as well as HCFA and UB claims forms. I have assisted in negotiations of commercial insurance contracts and fee schedules.
I am certified through the AAPC as a Certified Ambulatory Surgery Center Coder as of May 2010. My certification is current and I am up to date on all of my CEU?s. I have an associate?s degree in business management.
I am very talented with the use of computers, and am skilled in Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook and PowerPoint), Internet Explorer, and QuickBooks. I have experience with several software applications including Medical Mastermind and Mysis Tiger, as well as Vision and HST Pathways. I have experience with Allscripts PM and EMR and use ZIRMED for electronic billing, electronic remittance, and insurance verification.
