I currently am working as a temp remotely for a large multi facility central business office in WA state as a Medicare specialist, I use to be their Hospital Billing Analyst when I worked onsite there. Am currently looking for a permanent remote position (with benefits) where I can use my skills and knowledge and can work from Northern CA or Southern OR.
I do have over 15 years of increasing responsibility in the medical billing field. I am very knowledgeable and have experience working with most major payers specializing in Medicare and have experience working with RAC, OIG, CMS items and was asked on a regular basis to work special projects including researching necessary information from payers. I can understand and use all major medical billing insurance terms and abbreviations. I am familiar with Electronic Health Records and electronic systems now used in the medical billing field. I am considered a subject matter expert in medical billing, especially in Medicare related billing and am familiar with LCD, NCD, OCE, LMRP, NCCI and other related item including prebill edits and denials.
At my prior job in Seattle, where I was a billing analyst, I would create training materials for our business office staff including job aids, instructional aids, standard abbreviations uses, standard insurance terms used, insurance scripting (pretend phone calls) and other training materials as needed. I also conducted training with the new staff to both the EPIC systems and the Emdeon system, as well as continued education as needed for each group of billers. My class sizes ranged from one on one training to a class of 15 adults.
I am a quick learner and adaptable. In addition I am currently enrolled in an AHIMA approved online medical billing coding program. I am on track to finish the program within the next week (two at the very most) and test for my CCA in mid-July, hopefully as well for possibly CPC certification.
I am also experience with EPIC 2012 and have certification in HB and SBO EPIC 2012 applications. copy of resume and references available upon request
