Pt under went LT TKA 6/18/2013 and had a significant subcutaneous reaction to the sutures. No infection just inflammation and drainage all cultures being negative. Dr decides to do a scar excision and reclosure of wound

Basically he made an incision anteriorly removing the old scar, all present suture material and debridement was carried out to remove any necrotic tissue. After that, the skin edges were elevated slightly to allow closure. After through irrigation the wound was closed with stables.

Suggestions on what CPT code/modifiers to use? Would this fall under 27301? Thanks!

I would go under the integumentary system. If you look under the paragraph before Repair-Complex repair-it does say scar revision. You would need to know the location of the scar revision and how many cm the scar revision was.Hope that helps.
