Can anyone help with a code for excision of peroneus brevis muscle belly? Some sources say to use an unlisted code with an excision of foot tumor as a comparison code. Others say it's inclusive to other procedures. The physician also performed peroneus longus and brevis tenosynovectomy. Some seem to think it's not billable at all... Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

My foot and ankle specialist considers this part of the tenosynovectomy. I'm not sure if that is right or wrong but that is what he thinks. I'd be curious if anyone out there has documentation that points in another direction as well.
