DX: INFECTED MASS RIGHT EAR
The lobule was palpated and examined. Ultimately a large wedge was taken out of the lobule. A through-and-through thickness wedge was removed including the fistula tract and the mass of the posterior ear. Dissection was carried down to what appeared to be normal lobular skin and fat. Cautery was used to control bleeding. The deep tissue was closed with a chromic. The Prolene anterior and a chromic posterior were used to approximate the skin.
