During the post op visit of an ESWL the urologist decides and schedules the patient for another ESWL. Can we bill an Evaluation and Management service for this office visit ?
From what I have learned, no UNLESS it is a new problem.
Yes, the patient is having problems but they are problems he just recently had. Whithout reading the report, I cannot tell you for sure, but if the Doctor is wanting to do a repeat ESWL the patient is still suffering from the original problem so the E/M is not billable.
