Can someone tell me the appropriate CPT code to use for a Bilateral Erector Spinae Plane Block? We are getting some conflicting information as to what code should be used. Doctor is saying to use 64461 but all the research that our office has done is stating to use 64999 unlisted and attach notes. Any words of advise would be helpful . I have attached notes as well. Thank you!

Hi there, ESP is reported with the unlisted code according to CPT Assistant 1/2018, 12/2018 and 12/2022. The 12/2018 article specifically says the ESP block is not reported with 64461. If you haven't already done so it might help to have the doctor review NYSORA's articles for erector spinae blocks and PVB. NYSORA - World Leader in Anesthesiology Education
