Wiki ER Facility/Physician Billing

Can the ER facility side E/M be coded and billed out if the physician has not signed his dictation? My understanding is to bill anything the physician has to have signed an order or dictation. On the flip side can the professional side E/M be billed without dictation signed? Any official documentation on this topic?

Yes, the dictation should be signed prior to billing for anything no matter the facility/physician. There is a lot of helpful information regarding signatures on the CMS website.
