I have a plastic surgeon who did an ER consult in one hospital and one the same day transferred the child to a different hospital for the surgery. So the ER consult was in one place and the surgery was in another place but both took place on the same day. Child was released the following day from hospital #2. What CPT codes are allowed when filing to a medicaid managed care plan.
 
Hi,

I would code this consult with outpatient consult code (99241-99245). If the same provider perform the surgery we may bill with modifier 57.
