I passed my CPC exam in February 2023 and I just recently was able to submit an application to get my "A" removed. I am now looking for an entry level coding job. I am from the southern Virginia area and open to an in person position but I would prefer remote. I have applied to many different jobs but I never get a response from them. Any tips on how to get an entry level position jobs?

Do a search for 'entry level jobs' in this forum. I bet there are a hundred posts about this. Also....attend your local chapter meetings and get involved.

I have completed my CPC exam in august 2024 and i am trying to find a job. but it seems like everyone wants a experienced coders and its hard for freshers like me to lend their first job. i am still trying. i am also looking forward for 'entry level' jobs or 'remote jobs' so i can get experience and learn from it.

Just a suggestion: I’ve been coding for several years and I wouldn’t recommend remote for your first position. This is an extremely fast paced industry, and when you’re first learning, it’s helpful to have physical access to other coders and the HIM director for feedback and questions Once you’ve been coding consistently for a couple years, remote would be something worth considering.

I worked closely with a seasoned coder when I was starting out. It would’ve been very cumbersome to have all our interactions remotely, and her feedback was invaluable. Ads and the media misrepresent this job as being quick and easy to learn and then quick to get a job once certified. This is grossly misleading. Coding is constantly changing and keeping up with all those changes is key. The facilities are looking for both accuracy and speed, and it takes awhile to find your stride. Being around other coders is only a benefit when starting out.
