I would love some guidance on how to properly bill for enteral nutrition. How do I calculate the amount of calories are in infant formula containers. When I receive prescriptions from the dr., it just states how many oz. per day the patient needs to intake. We dispense per containers/cans so I'm not sure how to calculate calories per container, so that I can then calculate the number of units we dispensed. I know Medicare has a formula to follow but I am not sure if I am getting the same # of units per can.
