A client was sent to us by his Diversion Officer for a Diagnostic Assessment due to underage drinking. He has a history of substance usage - not abuse. The clinician used Z65.3 (Problems related to other legal circumstances) as no issues were found. Since according to ICD10 this cannot be used as a primary code , would it be appropriate to use Z04.6 (Encounter for general psych exam, requested by authority) ?
