Does anyone's Orthopedic practice perform EMG's? We are looking to get into this ancillary service but I don't know anything about it. I guess my question is, can my docs bill for this service or do they have to have a specialty training/certification for this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

we do...you can do a ton of nerves. There's a great article in the Pink Sheets on this procedure. Also Appendix J in the CPT book helps a lot.

I don't think so...I'm at a separate office from the Dr's. But an Internal Medicine Dr I worked for billed it out and we got paid. We had a tech come in and perform the procedure and then we billed through my Dr.
