Does anyone have information on EMG billing? Curious what codes you are using. I don’t believe our provider is documenting or billing for everything she does during the procedure. She spends a lot of time on testing and our reimbursement is not very good.
Of course I would never bill anything she doesn’t do or document. I am fairly new to neurology coding and just wondering if other practices are performing other procedures. For example, we bought an ultrasound machine she uses during testing but we are not seeing many payers pay for it, instead denying as bundled.
My other question is regarding EEG billing and becoming an independent diagnostic lab. Illinois has horrible payment rates for EEG’s. But we were told AZ payments are better. We just bought the machine. The company we previously used advised us that they bill out of home office in TX because they are credentialed as independent dx lab. We have an office in AZ. Where do I find requirements to become independent dx lab or does anyone know anything about this?
